PATRICK Sassin of Plett Athletics Club completed his 10th consecutive Comrades Marathon this year. He ran in a fantastic time of 8hrs 57min and achieved his Bill Rowan medal and permanent Comrades number (awarded to those who complete 10 races).

Bitou athletes rake in Two Ocean medals

PLETT athletes did extremely well in this year’s Two Oceans races – all who entered the marathon and half-marathon managed to finish. In the 56km ultra-marathon, Victor Gugushe was the first Plett athlete home in an excellent time of 4hrs 25min 27sec, finishing 393rd out of an overall 7000 entrants – a remarkable achievement for someone competing in his first ultra.
