ABOUT 1700 people took part in the sixth annual two-day Sabrina Love Ocean Challenge in Plettenberg Bay yesterday and Sunday, when international sports stars swam, paddled, cycled, ran and walked alongside holidaymakers.

THE Sabrina Love Ocean Challenge has grown from humble beginnings six years ago – when a small bunch of locals got together for an ocean swim – to what is now the signature event of the December holiday season.

SPORTING greats like Natalie du Toit, Chad Ho, Derek Watts, Bruce Fordyce, Martin Dreyer, Michelle Eray and Kevin Evans will all be in action in the annual Sabrina Love Ocean challenge in Plettenberg Bay on December 27 and 28.

DIVE South Africa is Al Venter’s most comprehensive dive book to date, his eighth on the subject since Underwater Africa was first published in Cape Town by British publishing house Purnells 40 years ago.

KRANSHOEK Primary’s Grade 2s started 2009 with a splash, when 60 pupils took part in the Born in Africa Learn to Swim initiative. The programme has been running consistently for the past five years, offering two Bitou schools per year the opportunity to take part.

Several sporting celebrities have signed up for this year‘s Sabrina Love Ocean Challenge in Plettenberg Bay, and the organisers have encouraged businesses to enter teams for the December 28 charity event.
